    Andy Caldwell (USA)

Recording singles for Om Records and Naked Music, the former San Francisco native has quickly became a staple on the acclaimed Om Lounge, Sounds of Om and Mushroom Jazz mix series, tiding listeners over until his first full-length solo album Universal Truth emerged in 2006. Among the many gems featured on the studio album, "Warrior" gently emerged as the torch song for the summer of 2007. The track written by Caldwell, features the incredible vocal talents of Lisa Shaw and has been remixed by Claude Von Stroke, David Alvarado and Chuck Love. Quickly rising to the top of many compilation inclusions, it has been featured on releases by Hed Kandi, Vendetta and Ministry of Sound to name but a few....Andy Caldwell is presented by Level 10 & is supported by Frankie Button, Suric, Cool Hand Luke & James A....Get it on.....Tix available at www.geishabar.com.au

Akika Says "I Unequivocally Apologise For My Comments"

Akika Says "I Unequivocally Apologise For My Comments"

Robert Forster along with Grant McLennan used to be the mainstays of indie darlings" The Go Betweens" & for those of you who discovered music through the "DOFF DOFF" of dance they will be as alien to you as minor chords & middle eights....That's not to say the "Go Betweens" were world beaters, many thought they were pretentious & pedestrian whilst others considered them perfection personified....Notwithstanding the merits of his old band Robert Forster is also a music critic of some repute as I discovered whilst reading his collection "The Ten Rules Of Rock N Roll".......

Now Forster's rules are on the money, being both perceptive & thought provoking........Here's a sample........The bands with the most tattoos have the worst songs.......The second last song on every album is always the weakest.......No band does anything new on stage after the first 20 minutes.......Never follow an artist who describes their work as dark...Great bands don't have members doing solo albums......

All well & good for the archaic rock no roll brigade but music has advanced beyond MUSICAL instruments so being a devotee of dance music I took it upon myself to compile "The Ten Rules Of Dance Music"......Here's a sample..........A DJ plays someone’s else’s songs, a producer samples them then calls them his own.....NO Dj ever does anything new during their set after the first beat......The Dj who concentrates on image over music has a greater chance of stardom......Dance music is substantially less compelling without drugs.......Every song on a DJ's album is of consistent quality with each song so similar it seamlessly mixes with the next....DJ'ing is the most common occupation for males who have neither a trade nor education.........And

.........AKika was censored at that point lest she continues to maul the hand that feeds her....Geisha wishes to categorically state that the views expressed by young Akika are not representative of the views of Geisha Bar or its servants......Geisha is well aware that The Chemical Brothers & their ilk ARE the lyrical voice of a generation right on par with the likes of Bob Dylan, the Beat Poets & renaissance artists who were named after Ninja turtles.
