2022 HABITAT DJ COMPETITION

The Habitat DJ Competition is Perth’s most prestigious underground dj comp. Now in its 14th year, the competition has been responsible for discovering some of Perth’s finest DJ talent, many of whom have gone on to become some of Perth’s top club DJs.

Past finalists have won a total of 9 Perth Dance Music Awards between them. Many any of our contestants have used the opportunity to get exposure to the industry and have used it as a stepping stone to become residents at many of Perth’s top underground club nights, festivals and events.

The competition is open to all young & up’n’coming djs who play the styles listed below. Entrants can play…

HEAT 1 – Friday 28 October @ Geisha – 10pm

The winner, as selected by our industry judging panel will get $1,000 cash prize PLUS a 1-1 Music Production Course donated by our major sponsor Labsix valued at over $1700, PLUS the opportunity to join the Geisha DJ roster.

We will also be selecting a punters choice winner, which we be chosen by the punters on the night of the finals. They will receive a $500 cash prize.

Entries must be in by 9pm Thursday 20th October.
Entrants may use cd, vinyl, serato or traktor, but no ableton sets are allowed.
* Please note that mixes submitted that do not fall into these broad categories or sub-genres will not be accepted.

We all know how hard it is to break into the club scene, so if you are really interested in becoming more than just a bedroom/party dj, then this is your chance to get exposure…
