OWNLIFE EP LAUNCH (Sat 02/11)
“If you’re a fan of Fred Again, Skrillex, or What So Not, you’ll love this guy.” – Anika Luna, Triple J.
Geisha bar proudly welcomes Ownlife, the rising 20-year-old DJ, producer, and singer, for his debut headline show to celebrate the release of his debut EP “Cry Dance.” Having supported acts like What So Not, Tina Says, and Grammy-nominated DJ Will Clarke, Ownlife is carving out his own space with a sound that blends the nostalgic energy of 2000s dance with modern house and garage production.
A rarity among producers, Ownlife sings on his own productions and during his DJ sets.
Lead singles from the EP, “Like I Do” and “Talking Circle,” have already gained attention from Triple J and major streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, with placements on “New Dance Beats” and “New in Electronic” editorials. Triple J describes Ownlife’s sound as “the most delightful combination of raw and shiny clean” and “abuzz with dancefloor electricity.”
Perth legends Lowbrain and Clinical Groove will kick off the evening with a multi-genre blend of house, UKG, and beyond. Joining them is PAO, renowned for his hybrid trap productions and industry backing from acts like Boombox Cartel, Alison Wonderland, and What So Not.
Ownlife’s set will take you on a journey through “Cry Dance,” featuring live vocals, before expanding into a wider palette of underground dance sounds, moving fluidly from house to bass-driven rhythms and many bpm beyond. Expect a night where the energy evolves.
