Sub:Version featuring BETA (UK) & Karl Sav

“It’s been a long time, we shouldn’t have left you. Without a breakbeat to step to” … or something along those lines. So apart from misquoting Eric B & Rakim, the big news from the FreQualizer camp is Perth’s only dedicated breaks night Sub:Version is back baby. And this time we have breaks stalwart and uber producer Beta stepping into the booth for his Perth debut. Also in tow, for what will be his last Australian gig before heading States side is Perth ex-pat Karl Sav.
If you have stepped foot in a breaks party in the last 10 years then we have no doubt you have heard more than a few of BETA’s tracks. A favourite of those who know, and has a history of being a producer that breaks DJ’s turn to for rocking a crowd. So dust off your dancing shoes and join us as we roll out the beats that makes our parties a proper breakbeat hoedown.

Open at 11pm with support from local breakbeat generals and NSB radio duo DEAD EASY & ROXRIGHT.

BETA

London based breakbeat producer Beta started out Djing breaks at the start this century and has since been entertaining crowds cross the globe using his own exclusive material, bootlegs and mashups. In the studio he takes Influences from funk, drum and bass, house, indie and just about every style to create a unique sound, never lacking in bass or beats. Singles and remixes have gained support from the likes of Hybrid, The Crystal Method, The Freestylers and DJ Icey. With releases on Sound of Habib, En:Vision, Scarcity Records and Downbeat to name a few, he’s always featuring regularly on Beatport’s top 10.

KARL SAV
One of Australia’s leading exports in the broken beat world, Karl Sav was listed by Beatport as one to watch in 2009 and has been DJing and producing electronic music since the early “naughties”. Infusing heavy basslines with atmospheric funk, his debut release on Erase Records from Greece led to signings with Unstable Label and Re:connect records in the UK. Having remixed some of the biggest names in dance music ; Myagi, Calvertron, High Eight, WoNK, Mars, and Mesmer as well as Australian bands “The Falls” and “Calerway” who featured his remix of “Imaginary Friend” on their debut album, Midnight Mercenaries. He has received airplay from some of breakbeat’s biggest hitters; Future Funk Squad, Hedflux, Dopamine and Elite Force
