Breakdown and FreQualizer are combining powers again for the next instalment after a rammed and by all accounts very successful first show together featuring The Funk Hunters (Canada). As always, they’ve enlisted the skills of some of Perth’s finest deck technicians for support duties and this time around are proud to present, Slynk!!!

Ghetto Funk / Glitch Hop / Hiphop / Funk / B-Boy Breaks / Bootleg / Drum & Bass

Evan Chandler aka Slynk, is originally from Brisbane, Australia but now living in Vancouver, BC (Canada). Most known for his ghetto funk style productions but loves playing and producing all kinds of funky stuff. Basically his rule is to only make and play music that makes you smile and that usually means that it’s got to be funky. Not one to take himself too seriously. he likes to have fun with his music and add a little humour.
Slynk started DJing at a little cafe in Brisbane and playing there every Friday and Saturday for six hours. After about 2 years at the cafe a local DJ agency started to notice his party mashup style and turntablist skills and he quickly started playing shows all around Australia.
His production started getting noticed by guys like Rephrase and Featurecast and they put in a good word for him at Goodgroove Records. He was then asked to produce a three track EP which was released in 2009 and the good people at Shambhala Music Festival in Canada caught wind of the EP and booked him to play in the Fractal Forest. Since then he’s been releasing music on a bunch of different labels and touring around playing his funky sound.
