Akika says: What to do when you’re not in the mood

We’ve all been there. Lying on the couch, half watching really bad reruns of 80’s movies, half contemplating a reason to bail out on the night’s planned activities with the squad. Here’s my tried and true formula for getting moving when I’d rather be putting on my pj’s than getting club-ready.

Start with a Piña Colada face mask – mix: 2 tablespoons avocado, 1 teaspoon pineapple juice, 1 teaspoon honey, 2 tablespoons shredded coconut. Apply a thin layer to face. After 10 minutes, use circular motions to remove. Rinse with warm water.

Next up, Mojito body scrub – mix: 3 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, lime zest, mint. When it forms a paste, get in a hot shower and scrub it all over till you feel shiny and new.

These two work like a charm. At this point, all you really need is a decent playlist and a drink or two while you slip into a sexy outfit and book that Uber driver to deliver you to a night of dancing and fun. Bonus, these tips work perfectly for rejuvenating after a fun night out too. Those pj’s will be waiting for you when you emerge in a fluffy towel and a grin, as you remember all the mischief from the night before.
