AKIKA SAYS: DUMB PARENTING STRIKES AGAIN

By Geisha Bar

A mother in Ireland is now broke after her 14 year old son has spent her whole month’s wages on the FIFA 18 online game. She purchased the game entering in her debit card details, and was informed the game allows you to purchase “points” while playing. Amusingly, she also claims that she was unaware her card (the details of which she handed over to PlayStation), would be charged for this. Every time the son would move players around, it required “points’, so she was charged every time this happened, and apparently the son was also unaware.

Upon contacting PlayStation, she was told it was an adult’s game, and that there was nothing they could do. This is not an isolated case, as there are many parents out there who are dumb enough to use their credit cards to allow their kids to play online games and then are horrified to find that the kid has spent a bunch of money playing the game.

Parents; listen up: if your child’s gaming requires you to enter in any credit card details; just DON’T. Stick to purchasing them physical disc games from EB or whatever, and if they want to play online games that cost money, let them wait until they are old enough to fund it themselves. It blows my mind how many parents let their children use their credit cards and then expect sympathy when the child wastes their money. One dumb woman in New Zealand gave her 11-year-old daughter her credit card details to buy Ed Sheeran tickets, and hilariously the dumb kid bought some off scalping site Viagogo for at least double the price, causing the mother to be out of pocket by about $1000.00. The mother then went to the newspaper and media angrily stating that the company should refund her the money because it was an eleven year old who made the mistake. But what dumbass gave her the credit card details in the first place?

Moral of the story: JUST KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS TO YOURSELVES, LOW IQ PARENTS.
